GrapeDNA

Terms of Service

Effective August 30, 2026

These Terms govern your use of GrapeDNA, a personal wine cellar app built and operated by Anand Chandramohan (an individual, not a company). By creating an account or using the app, you're agreeing to these Terms. If something here doesn't work for you, the simplest option is not to use the app — and if you're already using it, you can delete your account at any time from Profile → Settings.

1

Acceptance of Terms

Creating an account, checking the "I agree" box at signup, or continuing to use GrapeDNA after these Terms change all count as acceptance. If you're agreeing on behalf of someone else, you're confirming you have the authority to do that.

2

Eligibility

GrapeDNA is a cellar-tracking and tasting-notes tool — it doesn't sell, ship, or facilitate the purchase of alcohol in any way. Still, its subject matter is wine, so you must be of legal drinking age in your jurisdiction to create an account. We don't run age-verification checks; by signing up, you're confirming this is true.

3

Your Account

You're responsible for the accuracy of the information you give us and for keeping your login credentials secure. One account per person. If you believe your account has been accessed without your permission, email us right away at the address below.

4

Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • Use the app for anything illegal, or upload content you don't have the right to upload.
  • Attempt to reverse-engineer, scrape, or extract data from the app or its underlying services beyond your own account's data.
  • Interfere with the app's infrastructure, including automated or bulk requests designed to overload it.
  • Deliberately submit false or manipulative values to the shared community-average feature described in Section 6, or otherwise try to distort it.

Violating these terms may result in suspension or termination of your account, at our discretion, with notice where reasonably practical.

5

Your Content

Photos, tasting notes, ratings, and other information you add to GrapeDNA are yours. By uploading them, you grant us a limited license to store and display that content back to you as part of the app's functionality. We don't sell your content, and we don't publish or share it with anyone else — with one exception: wine label photos are shared publicly by default, visible to other users who have that same wine and vintage, unless you turn sharing off for that photo before saving, as described in our Content Moderation Policy. You can delete individual wines, or your entire account and everything in it, at any time.

6

The Community Average

When you edit a wine's taste characteristics (body, tannin, acidity, sweetness), your input is blended into an anonymous, aggregated average shared across all users of that same wine — this is the only piece of your activity that's ever combined with other people's. It carries no name, photo, rating, or note attached to it, and it can't be traced back to your account.

7

Disclaimers

Not professional advice Drinking-window estimates, "peak" status, and Match % scores are informational estimates generated by the app's own logic. They are not appraisals, professional sommelier guidance, or a guarantee of a wine's condition or value. Label-scanning (OCR) results may occasionally be inaccurate — always double-check what the app reads against the bottle in front of you.
8

No Sale of Alcohol

GrapeDNA is a record-keeping tool. It does not sell, broker, ship, or arrange the sale of alcohol, and nothing in the app should be understood as an offer to do so.

9

Intellectual Property

The GrapeDNA name, design, and underlying software belong to its operator. These Terms don't grant you any rights to them beyond ordinary use of the app.

10

Termination

You can stop using GrapeDNA and delete your account at any time from Profile → Settings → Delete Account — this permanently removes your wines, photos, and profile data. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate Section 4, with notice where reasonably practical.

11

Disclaimer of Warranties & Limitation of Liability

GrapeDNA is provided "as is," without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We don't guarantee the app will be error-free, uninterrupted, or that its estimates are accurate. To the fullest extent permitted by law, Anand Chandramohan is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the app, including decisions made about a wine based on its estimates.

12

Changes to These Terms

If these Terms change, the effective date above will update, and material changes will be reflected here before they take effect. Continuing to use the app after a change means you accept the updated Terms.

13

Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Arizona, USA, without regard to its conflict-of-law principles.
